I przeznaczonych do prowadzenia mojej obietnicy i służyć EDR do 25 lat, tj. do roku 2008.
W sumie: I przechowywane moje obietnicy robi 25 lat pracy EDR.

Dear all,

As a result of the ordinary bi-annual General Elections in 2008, EDR (Experimenterende Danske Radioamatører) has got a new Executive Committee and a new International Liaison Officer as follows:

President: Martin Mortensen, OZ3MC, e-mail oz3mc@edr.dk
Vice President: Jørgen Nielsen, OZ2JBC, e-mail oz2jbc@edr.dk
Secretary: Kjeld Majland, OZ5KM, e-mail oz5km@edr.dk
IARU Liaison: Hans Pyndt, OZ5DX, e-mail oz5dx@edr.dk

Please adjust your records accordingly, including the web sites http://www.iaru.org/ and http://www.iaru-r1.org/ and please send IARU issues to OZ5DX. Most/some of you probably have met Hans at IARU Region 1 Conferences - he has attended more conferences than I dare to think of...

On a more personal note: In about 1978 I was hired by Bent, OZ7AQ, then Technical Editor of EDR's magazine 'OZ' in my first jub as a newly graduated electrical engineer. On top of our professional activities, we developed close friendship, and in about 1981 I promised OZ7AQ that I would take over position as Technical Editor of 'OZ' in 1986, as Bent would then have served this position for 25 years: 'If you take 25 years, I will do the next 25 years'.

Unfortunately, OZ7AQ became Silent Key in March 1983. It was my sad duty to write his obituary and I took over as Technical Editor the same month. I intended to keep my promise and serve EDR for 25 years, i.e. until 2008.

When in 2002 I had served as Technical Editor for 19 years, I was asked to run for election as President of EDR. I was elected President and laid down my position as Technical Editor after 19 years of continuous service. At that time I knew that I would serve a maximum of three 2-year terms of office as President.

This planning have resulted in a smooth takeover of both the Technical Editor position - now for 6 years served by Jørgen OZ7TA in an excellent manner - and the positioning of a new candidate for President of EDR. I am very confident that Martin OZ3MC will fill the position excellently.

All in all: I kept my promise of doing 25 years of work for EDR. I have in a planned way retired from active EC duties, but I will occasionally and aperiodically create technical contributions for 'OZ' magazine - and try to get a little more air-time in the future!

I will convey my sincere thanks to all of you that I have had the privilege to talk to, work with, liaise with and so on - be in on the air, at IARU and NRAU Conferences, World Radio Conference (WRC07) or anywhere else. It has been a pleasure always to feel the dedication and enthusiasm that you all express for our common goal: The well-being, progress and 'futurizing' of The Amateur Radio Service!
